Hi-5: 5 Q’s on work, life & inspiration

Say Hi to Katie – our newest team member and dog fanatic.

When not putting together winning proposals or fielding discovery calls, you can find Katie exploring Norfolk’s many breweries on the ERT, hitting the beach with her dog Zoey, or practicing yoga. As a Digital Marketing Consultant, Katie blends her background as a project manager, marketing specialist, and even production assistant for the Pittsburgh Steelers, to help clients understand their needs and what’s possible.

We now interrupt her very busy day for a quick Hi-5…

Who has inspired you recently and why?

The women in my life always manage to inspire me. Currently, Covid-19 has thrown a wrench in a lot of their lives, and time and time again they’ve handled the challenge with grace. Accepting that they won’t get the wedding of their dreams or learning that their husband will be out to sea indefinitely, they only show strength and understanding. There’s a lot of turmoil in the world right now, and I’m so impressed by how people are facing their individual struggles with selflessness and resiliency.

What brings you the most joy in the workplace?

A good conversation. Whether it’s listening to a client’s needs or brainstorming with coworkers, the discussion of moving others forward brings me joy. I’m happy to chat hours on end about things we have in common or ideas we’re excited to bring to life.

You a morning person, or night-owl?

I’m a night-owl who’s trying to grow into a morning person. The sun’s bright here in Norfolk, so it gets me up and ready to tackle the day. Now, will I be doing sunrise yoga? Probably not, but a good cup of coffee can get me out of bed by 8.

“Branding and marketing are at the core of a company’s success.”

Office or WFH? What’s the scoop?

If I had to choose, I’d say office. I worked from home for about two years while my fiancé was in flight school. While it was great to have the opportunity to continue my career remotely, I really missed the people. Productivity is do-able at home, but collaboration is much easier and more effective in the office. Plus, I’m a people-person, so I thrive when I’m surrounded by coworkers with fun personalities and great ideas.

Why do you do what you do?

To help businesses grow. Branding and marketing are at the core of a company’s success. I love being a part of the process where they decide who they want to be, showcase that through their brand, and reach those who they’re ultimately trying to help. It’s a circle of meeting people’s wants and needs, and I love being a part of it.

Katie brings clients’ needs to the forefront of every conversation – ensuring Ciniva is a true extension of your team and a partner in your success. Hit us up if you’d like to collaborate on a project together, we’d be happy to get the conversation going.
