GA4 is Here- Are you ready?
Don't lose your website data
When Google announced that Universal Analytics would be replaced by Google Analytics 4 (GA4) in July 2023, most companies found themselves unclear about the transition and what data would remain available.
As this deadline continues to creep up, businesses need to take action to download all of their former analytics and set up GA4 in order to begin and continue capturing traffic and data for their website.
So what exactly is changing between the two platforms? First, there is a new reporting interface for GA4, with a number of new menu items. Another key difference is how the data is defined and measured. You will not receive identical information as you had prior with UA. The data will be similar, but pending the user’s permissions for tracking and sharing demographic information, you will see a difference in how much information is gathered about your visitors. You will continue to have user interest data, but the affinity category will no longer be available on GA4.
So, why make the move now to GA4? Universal Analytics will no longer collect data beginning July 1, 2023, and eventually it will be removed all together. Adding GA4 now allows you to install it, test it to ensure it is accurate and have several months of data to compare against the former data from Universal Analytics.
